The LHHS PTA is calling on volunteers to help with Christa McAuliffe Learning Center (CMLC) Teacher Appreciation in March.  Since CMLC  has no active PTA, individual PTA’s within RISD  rotate teacher appreciation on a monthly basis.

In the February PTA meeting, PTA honored students who had outstanding accomplishments this year.  The groups honored were National Merit Finalists, National Merit Semi-finalist, National Merit Commended Students, National Achievement Commended students, National Hispanic Recognition Program, All State Band, All State Choir, and Academic All State Football Team.  These students are as follows:

Checkbook Fundraiser Thanks! 138 Families Have Contributed. Are you one of them?

THANK YOU to all the contributors to the LHHS Checkbook Fundraiser and the Courtyard Project.  As of February 23rd, 138 supporters have donated $13,145!!!!  We are making progress toward our $15,000 goal.

Navigating Course Requirements

In the coming days, students in 6th – 11th grade will pre-register for 2010-2011 classes. To assist students and their parents, RISD has published a helpful book, “Secondary Program of Studies and Course Descriptions 2010-11.” Each student in grades 6-11 will receive a copy of this book from their school counselor.

The RISD Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) will meet three times during the 2009-2010 school year to share information regarding district-wide concerns with the Superintendent, Administrators, and the Board of Trustees.  All meetings begin at 7:00 pm in Room 203 at the RISD Administration Building at 400 South Greenville.

LHHS high school students now have access to their student information online (grades, attendance, unofficial transcript) with their own personal student accounts. Access Student Star Portal via web address, https://portal0.risd.org (include the s and, yes, that is a zero in the web address.)
