After a brief business meeting, our PTA Membership Award Recipients will be announced, and next year’s Board will be recognized.


You are welcome to stay for the Orchestra concert that will immediately follow the meeting.


Here are the positions we are still looking to fill on next year's Board:

  • Clinic -- Chairs the committee that works with the nurse to help with supplies and/or volunteers when needed
  • Community Outreach -- Chairs the committee that works with the counselors to identify and assist with needs of LHHS students and families 
  • Environmental -- Represents LHHS at the RISD Council and stays in communication with RISD Council Environmental Chair
  • College Fair -- Chairs the committee that organizes the college fair in the fall
  • Arts in Education -- Chairs the committee that handles the Reflections contest

On April 6th, the Texas House voted to ban all public funds from being used to support vouchers.  Read more here.  Linda Koop voted in favor of the ban; Jason Villalba voted against it.  You can Villalba's office today (512) 463-0576, and let the staffer there know that you were disappointed in his vote against the ban on voucher funding and that you look forward to his full support of public education the next time around. 


The following items were approved at the PTA general meeting on March 9: next year’s Executive Board, updated bylaws, and standing rules

All PTA membership cards are available for pickup at the front window in the high school lobby.  To access the online directory, please log in to your account, click on the Directory tab, then choose Online Directory.


Please support Wild for Cats, the Academic Booster Club for Lake Highlands High School. Goals for the 2017 fundraising campaign include:

  • Create additional collaborative learning centers;
  • Provide students with standardized test preparation and online study aids;
  • Enable experiential learning with class field trips and college visits;
  • And several more!

To make a donation to support Lake Highlands academics, click here. All donors will receive a "Wild for Cats" yard sign and will be recognized at various academic ceremonies, on the Wild for Cats website, and in the all-sports program.

Don't forget to purchase your 2016-2017 yearbook! Yearbooks can be purchased online or through the school. School purchases can be made by cash or check. (Make checks payable to Lake Highlands High School and include driver's license no. and date of birth.)

The Wall of Fame outside of the LHHS Auditorium is the perfect place to show your support and display a permanent memory of your graduate, past and future students, family, teacher, club, staff or friend. 


Click on the links for an order form for 4x8 bricks or 12x12 tiles, an order form for 24x24 tiles, an example sheet and a logo choices sheet. You can include a sketch with your order form if it a large tile and you have a specific layout you want.  On-line payment option is here.

Orders will be due in March to allow for installation in May 2017.
