The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands recognized Pearl Eben and Martin White with the Character Counts Award for January.

Pearl and Martin were selected by teachers and staff at Lake Highlands High School to be recognized by the Exchange Club.

Pearl Eben’s favorite subjects include Calculus AB, English IV, and Acapella Choir.  She is secretary of the Africa Club and a FCA member.  “I expect great things from Miss Eben in the future!  Wherever she may go and whatever she may do, I know that it will continue to uplift the lives of others and that she will always look fabulous,” says LHHS teacher Tonya Harris.  “Her friendliness and caring nature touch everyone in her path,” adds LHHS’s Kathryn Laster.  Pearl is active with her church and plans to attend college and become a pharmacist.  She is the daughter of John and Justina Eben.

Martin White is a member of the LHHS Varsity Baseball team, performs with Espree and is an Eagle Scout in Troop 890.  “Martin puts the character in character counts!  His energy, enthusiasm and wit are contagious,” says LHHS’s Michael O’Hern.  “He is delightful, charming and engaging,” adds Tracey Bishkin.   “He consistently demonstrates great maturity and integrity.”  Next year, Martin plans to play college baseball.  He is the son of Carolyn and Dean White.

The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands presented Pearl and Martin a plaque and Northpark Gold in recognition of their outstanding character.
