 | Magazines, Cookie Dough, NO! Checkbook Fundraiser, YES!
We had a tremendous response to the Checkbook Donation Fundraiser last year, raising over $15,000. The generosity of LHHS parents and friends allowed the PTA to fund improvements to our PTA website, TAKS tutoring incentives, monthly Teacher Appreciation luncheons, supplies/equipment for the school as well as fund portions of the Courtyard Project.

 | Texas Changes Course Requirements for High School Graduation
During the recently completed regular session, Texas legislators approved a bill that changed the course requirements for high school graduation. Students will now need one year of PE instead of 1.5, and they no longer must take a year of technology and a semester of health to graduate. They won't need a semester of speech instruction either, once the State Board of Education approves that piece of the legislation.

Please volunteer to help with schedule pick-up on August 13, 2009. Junior Class pick-up is 8:30-11:30 and Sophmore Class pick-up is 1:00-1:30. We could also use some help on
