Help Appreciate our Teachers and Staff
We are having our november teacher appreciation lunch on Friday, Nov. 20. We will be serving baked potatoes with all the fixings, along with salad and mass quantities of candy. You cannot imagine how fun it is to watch teachers and staff members looking through bowls of candy to find their favorite little candy bars! I guess we all have a bit of child left in us!!!

The RISD Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) will meet three times during the 2009-2010 school year to share information regarding district-wide concerns with the Superintendent, Administrators, and the Board of Trustees. All meetings begin at 7:00 pm in Room 203 at the RISD Administration Building at 400 South Greenville.

SMART- Start Meeting and Reading Together
The Governor of Texas has declared October 19-25 Literacy Week, and the Texas PTA is celebrating with a new program called SMART – Start Meeting and Reading Together. The program aims to encourage families to spend a few moments each day reading together, both quietly and aloud, and to reach out to other less-fortunate families in the PTA spirit of volunteerism and caring.

The 2009-2010 LHHS PTA Student Directory will be available SOON! All PTA Members will receive a copy. The directory will be distributed to students/parents who have joined PTA this year. Please listen and watch for the exact dates in November that you or your student can pick yours up. It is NOT TOO LATE to join LHHS PTA and receive a free student directory.
